Celeirós do Douro hosts, on September 19th and 20th, the XIV Traditional Lagarada, an event that celebrates the grape harvest season and aims to preserve one of the most emblematic traditions of the municipality of Sabrosa. The title of "Capital of Lagaradas" attributed to Celeirós do Douro highlights the importance of this tradition for the region.
The program revolves around the old granite wine presses, where the traditional grape treading will be recreated, accompanied by music and entertainment. Gastronomy and endogenous products of the region will also have a prominent place during the event.
Among the scheduled moments are the performance of Banda Sol Brilhante, on Saturday, and an ethnographic procession on Sunday, which will feature the participation of confraternities, entertainment groups and the local population.
The event is organized by the Parish Council of Celeirós do Douro, in partnership with the Municipality of Sabrosa and the Douro XXI Association.
