To celebrate National Cachaça Day, observed on September 13, Cadeg at the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Market hosted from September 11 to 13 the event "Cachaças of Rio: distilling flavor and culture." The program was dedicated to the oldest beverage in the Americas and brought together six traditional producers from the state of Rio: 7 Engenhos, Engenho Alto, Da Quinta, Magnífica, Pindorama and Tellura.
The event featured a fair with tasting and sales of cachaças, as well as an exclusive bar with signature cocktails created especially for the occasion. The initiative was organized by Apacerj with support from Firjan and Sindibebi, and included daily drink workshops led by guest bartenders.
The program also featured the traveling exhibition "Cachaça, an exclusive product of Brazil," which highlighted historical facts such as the first distillation in the state of Rio territory, carried out in the 16th century, and the historic Cachaça Revolt. A lecture was given by Katia Alves Espírito Santo, president of Apacerj, who commented on how the exhibition shows how cachaça recovers the history of Brazil.
