A six-year-old child survived a bus crash on the Cape Verdean island of Fogo that resulted in 25 deaths. The girl, known in the community as Baby, told her aunt that a voice told her to get out of the vehicle and sit on a stone, and she was later rescued.
The child arrived in her aunt's arms and explained that she had "ended up at the bottom of a ravine." The aunt asked how her niece had managed to get out of the bus, and the girl responded that a voice told her to get out and sit on a stone until someone came to get her.
The accident occurred on the island of Fogo, in Cape Verde, and resulted in a high number of fatalities. The surviving child's account was relayed by the aunt to the media, revealing the dramatic moment of her escape from the crashed vehicle.
