Filinto Lima, president of the National Association of Public School Directors, commented on the measure banning mobile phones until 9th grade in schools. The official recognizes the value of the initiative but warns that its effectiveness depends on a joint effort that extends beyond the school environment.
According to Filinto Lima, "what we do positively in schools, society ruins," emphasizing that limiting the use of mobile phones in schools will not be sufficient if there is not the same care and attention outside of them. The association's president thus makes an appeal to parents in this return to classes, asking them to monitor and reinforce at home the rules established in schools.
