The Republican National Guard (GNR) has launched the Safe School Campaign for the 2026/2027 academic year. This campaign aims to strengthen safety and prevention within the Portuguese school community.
The initiative includes a set of awareness-raising actions targeted at educational establishments. It is estimated that the campaign will reach approximately 670,000 students across the country.
In the previous academic year, 2,631 crimes were recorded in school settings, which highlights the need to strengthen prevention and safety measures in Portuguese schools.
The GNR campaign comes as a response to these figures and aims to promote a safer school environment for students, teachers, and the rest of the educational community.
