Hwasa, member of the South Korean girl group Mamamoo, is one of the attractions at Rock in Rio's Mundo Stage this Friday (11), where she will perform a solo show. The artist is very beloved by Twitts, as her fans are called, and has become known in the K-pop industry for defying taboos and breaking traditional beauty standards.

In the song "I Love My Body," the singer criticizes the haters who judge her appearance and encourages fans to accept their own bodies. She is considered a figure who breaks with the conventional aesthetic standards of the South Korean K-pop industry.

One of the artist's most talked-about moments occurred when Hwasa openly spoke about eating disorders and depression in a South Korean documentary called "Bodymentary." In the program, she revealed that on weigh-in days, she and the other Mamamoo members would go to the pharmacy to buy laxatives to take before being weighed.
