DianaFM11 September 2026 at 08:09

Quinta da Malagueira in Évora will host the future ENA – Nature Space of the Alentejo, a new regional hub dedicated to environmental education, nature interpretation, biodiversity enhancement and community participation.

The vice-president of CCDR-Alentejo, Sónia Ramos, presented the vision and concept of the ENA during a session chaired by Ricardo Pinheiro, where ideas and possible partnerships for the development of the project were also discussed.

CCDR-Alentejo, in coordination with various partners, including the municipality of Évora, intends to begin work this year on the implementation of this space.

The project aims to create a regional reference hub that promotes environmental awareness and community involvement in the enhancement of the Alentejo's natural resources.

Taylor Swift becomes an insect: four new species bear her name

Taylor Swift was honored with four new invertebrate species that bear her name, including a spider, a fly and two types of crustaceans. Scientists from research institutions explained that they chose the singer's name as a way to recognize her cultural impact and the admiration she sparks in their research teams. This is not the first time artists have been immortalized in scientific nomenclature, but Swift's case marks one of the most emblematic situations as it involves a globally relevant figure.
