Study coordinated by Passos Coelho concludes that low productivity hinders economy

A study coordinated by former Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho, former MP Sérgio Sousa Pinto, and the president of the Porto Commercial Association concluded that low productivity is the main obstacle to Portuguese economic growth.

According to the study revealed by ACP-CCIP, the central problem of the Portuguese economy lies in productivity. The researchers pointed out that, even during periods of recent highest growth, this result resulted mainly from increased employment and not from significant productivity gains.
