Scientists may finally know why Venus, Earth's twin, has no moon. The research discovered that the hottest planet in the solar system may have swallowed its own natural satellite.
Venus is often called Earth's twin due to its size, mass, rocky composition and distance from the Sun. However, there are glaring differences between the two planets.
Besides Venus's scorching temperature, capable of melting lead, the enormous pressure on the surface, the violent and fast winds and the sulfuric acid clouds, one of the main differences between Earth and Venus can be seen from afar. While Earth has a moon, Venus apparently has none.
