India is hosting this weekend the leaders of the Brics bloc of emerging countries, including the presidents of Russia, China, and Iran, for a summit meeting marked by various global geopolitical turbulences, from the war in the Middle East to the conflict in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived this Friday in New Delhi for a three-day visit. He was received by India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, according to the Russian news agencies Tass and RIA Novosti.

The arrival of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi is also expected this Friday. Putin and Pezeshkian are expected to meet with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chinese President Xi Jinping's presence has been confirmed by the Chinese government.

Brazil will also be represented at the event. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sent Minister Mauro Vieira to represent him at the Brics summit, since he will not attend the meeting in person.
