Immigration services in Castellón are facing an avalanche of regularization requests, with long queues of immigrants forming daily at official and collaborating points. The turnout is particularly visible in the early morning hours at Borrull square, in front of the office of the National Social Security Institute (INSS). Many immigrants are rushing to complete each step of the regularization process and avoid the entire procedure failing.
According to organizations such as SomCustòdia, represented by its president Esperanza Meléndez, one of the main reasons for this rush to services is that many foreigners recently received a provisional report accepting their regularization request. However, for the process to continue, these immigrants must pay a fee at any bank or ATM, using a specific barcode, and present the proof within a maximum of 10 days.
The payment and presentation of proof must be done at Correos services or at collaborating bodies, such as the INSS at Borrull square. If applicants fail to comply with this requirement within the established period, they may face serious consequences in their regularization process, potentially losing the opportunity to obtain the documents they so desperately need.
