An approximately 80-year-old man was targeted in an attempted scam in Forjães, Esposende. The case occurred on September 6, on Avenida Santa Marinha, near the Centro Cultural Escolas Rodrigues.
The attempted scam was carried out by a couple who approached the elderly man on the street. The criminals presented themselves under the pretext of selling a gold watch to the man.
The Republican National Guard issued a statement about the case, warning the population about this type of fraudulent schemes that frequently target elderly people.
The GNR recommends that citizens be alert to suspicious approaches and avoid trusting strangers who offer high-value products in public places.
