The Capuchos Night Walk opened, on Thursday, the program of the Capuchos Festivities 2026 in Vila Viçosa, bringing hundreds of people to the streets of the city. The organization counted around 500 registered participants, although attendance was higher, with several people joining the initiative without prior registration.
The Largo dos Capuchos began to fill up early in the evening, in an atmosphere marked by socializing and the participation of people of different ages. The gathering began around 8:45 PM, before the departure at 9:30 PM, for an urban route of 6.7 kilometers, classified with a medium/high difficulty level.
The councilor of the Municipal Chamber of Vila Viçosa, Liliana Galhofas, responsible for the sports department, considered that the registered attendance met the organization's expectations. The mayor highlighted that the initiative sought to associate the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits with the spirit of gathering that marks the start of the festivities, functioning as a moment of socializing where the population can fraternize.
The presence of several generations reinforced the community character of the event, with families, groups of friends and participants of different ages sharing the same route. The walk preceded the official opening of the festival and constituted the first moment of a program that continues until September 15.
