Flamengo faces Independiente del Valle this evening in the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals. The match will take place at 9:30 PM at the Olímpico Atahualpa stadium in Quito. Coach Leonardo Jardim fielded the team in what was called "Libertadores mode," keeping players who are expected to be starters in the South American tournament.
Bruno Henrique and Emerson Royal were kept as starters in the lineup. Both are considered practically guaranteed in Flamengo's main team for the continental competition.
