The award initiative is the responsibility of the Riverside Beaches Guide, a reference in the promotion and enhancement of riverside beaches in Portugal. The national vote allowed citizens to express their preferences for the best riverside beaches in the country.

This result positions the Tapada Grande Riverside Beach among the top three in the country, highlighting it as a reference destination for swimming and leisure in a natural environment. Mina de Sao Domingos, the location of this riverside beach, is known for its mining and landscape heritage in the interior of the Alentejo region.
