Interest in undergraduate and graduate studies abroad grows

The search by Brazilians for undergraduate and graduate studies abroad has grown significantly in recent surveys of the exchange market, representing a shift in how young people plan their careers. According to the Selo Belta 2026 Survey, conducted by the Brazilian Association of Exchange Agencies, academic education abroad accounts for 23.6% of the most desired exchange modalities among Brazilian students, one of the most expressive percentages in the survey. The Brazilian exchange market moved R$ 7 billion in 2025, a 27.3% increase compared to R$ 5.5 billion recorded in 2024. Marina Jendiroba, executive director of Intercultural Intercâmbio, a company specialized in exchange programs for 31 years, commented that the growth reveals a more mature understanding about the value of international education. This movement follows the general expansion of the international education sector in the country.
