Santa Clara, a Portuguese Primeira Liga club, loaned the Brazilian winger Rildo to Avaí, a Brazilian team, until the end of the season. The agreement allows the player to accumulate playing minutes while representing the new club.
Rildo had played only 11 minutes for Santa Clara in the first matchday of the season, coming on as a substitute in a match that saw Santa Clara face Nacional. This limited playing time is believed to have motivated the decision to loan the player during the sports season.
The loan to Avaí presents an opportunity for the Brazilian to regain competitive rhythm and have more playing opportunities, something that would hardly have happened at Santa Clara for the remainder of the season.
With this temporary transfer, Santa Clara frees up salary budget space and a roster spot, while Avaí gains an offensive option for their team during the season.
