The National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH) launched in August the INDSH Pharmacotherapeutic Guide, a document that brings together essential information about the standardized medications across the 23 units managed by the institute throughout the country. The content includes indications, presentations, dosages, dose adjustments, preparation methods, administration, clinical monitoring, precautions, storage conditions, and aspects related to medication use safety.
The guide was developed jointly by all INDSH Pharmacy teams and the Scientific Committee of the Brazilian Institute for Patient Safety (IBSP), with the objective of providing technical-scientific information about the standardized medications in the institution. The technical guidance was developed to support the multidisciplinary teams at the units.
According to the institution, the guide constitutes a fundamental instrument to support care practice, ensuring safe medication use and improving overall care at the units under INDSH management.
