APDL announced the entry into operation of the New Dry Dock No. 3 at the Viana do Castelo Shipyards, marking the beginning of its operational activity on September 7. The first construction to use the new infrastructure was the SEFU, which is 117.3 meters in length, 9,259 GT and has a draft of 4.65 meters.
The new dry dock is provided for under the Third Amendment to the Sub-concession Contract and represents an important reinforcement of the capacity of the Viana do Castelo Shipyards, allowing the expansion of available conditions for shipbuilding and repair operations.
The entry into operation of this infrastructure constitutes a relevant milestone for the Port of Viana do Castelo, reinforcing its capacity to support the naval industry and creating better conditions to respond to operations of greater dimension and complexity.
