The Government decided to adjust the deadlines for submitting operational programs and amendment requests from Producer Organizations (PO) in the fruit and vegetable sector, announced the Ministry of Agriculture and Sea in a statement this Thursday, September 10.
The measure responds to a concrete demand from the sector, which had warned of the mismatch between the legal calendar and the peak of harvests. Until now, the deadline set for September 15 forced POs to carry out a complex strategic planning exercise during the period of greatest overload and operational intensity in the field, which has motivated successive extensions of the legal deadline.
With the seventh amendment to Ordinance No. 54-F/2023, operational programs and amendment requests must now be submitted by September 30, allowing the planning process to be aligned with field reality and ensuring greater predictability and flexibility.
With this regulatory review, the Executive reinforces the capacity of POs to manage increasingly technical and demanding programs, ensuring that the regulatory framework keeps pace with the sector's evolution and respects its operational constraints.
