Long-term inflation remains stable despite the war in Iran, according to IMF projections

SIC Notícias10 September 2026 at 18:52

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) kept practically unchanged its projection for underlying inflation, which excludes food and fuel prices, indicating that price evolution globally should approach normality in 2027.

This maintenance of projections occurs in a context of geopolitical tension, namely the war in Iran, which could lead one to expect more significant inflationary pressures.

The IMF thus predicts that, despite international uncertainties, the trajectory of global inflation in the coming years points to stabilization and return to more usual levels.
