The Italian government has extended the diesel price discount at fuel stations for another week. The reduction of 17.1 cents per liter will now be in effect until September 17, according to the measures approved by the executive.
This is the fifteenth consecutive support measure implemented by the government to curb the rise in fuel prices. The measure has an estimated cost of about 2.7 billion euros for the Italian state.
According to the information provided, this could be the last time a general discount on fuel taxes is applied. The Italian government is said to have indicated that it does not intend to extend this measure beyond the newly announced extension.
