Carlos García Roldán, leader of the Lujo Casa real estate mega-scam, was arrested and is now held in a prison in Catalonia. The accused, who was pending to serve almost fifteen years in prison, remained hidden from justice for fifteen years.
His capture occurred this morning when agents of the Civil Guard from the Palma Command entered his mother's home, located in the Catalan town of Calella. In it, he remained hidden in a cavity of the dwelling.
The agents managed to locate him and immediately informed him of his arrest. The scammer had a detention and imprisonment order, issued by the same court of the Audiencia of the Balearics that imposed this long sentence on him as the author of various fraud offenses.
The Lujo Casa mega-scam has more than a hundred affected people, making it the largest real estate scam committed in the Balearic Islands.
