Grupo Piracanjuba brings education to employees in 9 states

Bringing education to cities far from major urban centers is a challenge for democratizing knowledge in Brazil. This difficulty is reflected in numbers: the rural Brazilian population aged 18 to 29 has, on average, 10.5 years of education, while the urban population of the same age group has 12.1 years, according to data from the Census of Higher Education report, released by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).

Low education levels impact the supply of skilled labor. The Top 10 Risks and Opportunities in Agribusiness report by EY places "attraction, development, and retention of people, and organizational culture" as the second greatest risk for the sector in the country, highlighting a shortage of prepared professionals.

This problem directly impacts companies, but the solution also lies with them. Grupo Piracanjuba, one of the largest companies in the food sector in Brazil, has defined investment in education as a central strategy in people development, bringing qualification to its employees in nine states across the country.
