Dino assumes São Paulo Civil Police inquiry into Dark Horse producer and nullifies request to Mendonça

Minister Flávio Dino, of the Supreme Federal Court, decided to accept a request from the Federal Police and assume the investigation that was being conducted by the São Paulo Civil Police regarding businesswoman Karina Ferreira da Gama, partner of Go Up Entertainment, the producer responsible for the film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. With this, the inquiry was transferred to Dino's chamber at the Court.

The measure complied with a request from the Federal Police itself and is contained in the same decision in which the minister ordered the execution of 49 search and seizure warrants to investigate the alleged diversion of parliamentary amendments to companies of a group that includes the producer of the film about Bolsonaro.

In practice, Dino's decision nullifies a request previously made by Karina's defense to Minister André Mendonça's office, who is the rapporteur of the investigation into the transfers by former banker Daniel Vorcaro to the film about Bolsonaro. The businesswoman had requested that Mendonça suspend the investigation by the São Paulo Civil Police and order the case sent to the Supreme Federal Court, in this case to his own chamber.
