Four associations of the Republican National Guard (GNR) and three unions of the Public Security Police (PSP) demanded today from the Minister of Internal Administration a meeting "within the deadline" that was set by the police representatives. The security forces threaten with a protest if the request is not met.
The associations and unions represent thousands of police officers from both security forces. The representatives expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of response from the Ministry of Internal Administration to their claims.
The demand for a meeting comes at a time of tension between the police forces and the government. The police point to labor issues and working conditions that have not been addressed.
If the meeting is not scheduled within the established deadline, the associations and unions threaten to proceed with protest actions. These may include demonstrations or other forms of mobilization of agents from both security forces.
