Portugal Sotheby's International Realty has appointed Carolina Afonso as its marketing and technology director, also joining the company's executive committee. Carolina Afonso has built a career marked by leading digital transformation and innovation projects and processes, combining a strong strategic component with extensive experience in implementing technology solutions focused on business and the consumer.
With over 18 years of experience in the technology, retail and FMCG sectors, the new director has worked at companies including Toshiba, Asus and Gato Preto. She is also a professor at ISEG and ISEG Executive Education, where she coordinates and teaches several courses in marketing, sustainability and artificial intelligence, and serves on the board of the Portuguese Association of Marketing Professionals. Academically, she holds a doctorate from the Complutense University of Madrid, a master's degree in Marketing from ISEG and a bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Nova University of Lisbon.
Carolina Afonso stated that luxury real estate is a fascinating sector where human relationships and excellence in experience remain irreplaceable, but where technology and data play a growing and still underutilized role, and that is the intersection where she intends to work. For his part, Miguel Poisson, the company's CEO, highlighted that the luxury real estate brokerage sector is experiencing a disruptive moment, where the future will depend on the depth to which each client is known, through hyper-segmentation that allows desires to be anticipated.
