João Almeida in third place in the Tour of Spain time trial

João Almeida finished in third place in the Tour of Spain time trial. The timed stage had a course of 32.1 kilometres between El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez de la Frontera.

Kung won the race with a time of 35 minutes and 22 seconds. British rider Callum Thornley, from the Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe team, came in second place, just three seconds behind the winner.

João Almeida completed the time trial nine seconds slower than Kung, thus securing third place in the classification. The result represents a good performance by the Portuguese rider in this against-the-clock stage.
