The state of Paraná, in Brazil, was hit by two tornadoes in a period of less than 24 hours. This rare meteorological phenomenon in the region caused significant destruction in urban and rural areas.
In the locality of Espigão Alto do Iguaçu, an area dedicated to eucalyptus plantations was practically destroyed by the phenomenon. A video accompanying the news shows the extent of the damage caused to these plantations.
This extreme weather event drew the attention of authorities and the local population due to its intensity and the speed with which the two tornadoes followed each other in the same region.
