Anthony Garotinho, candidate of Republicanos for the government of Rio de Janeiro, minimized his high rejection rate in polls during a series of forums promoted by CBN radio and newspapers O Globo, Extra and Valor Econômico. In the last Quaest poll, he appears in third place with 8% of voting intentions, but has 68% rejection, the highest among candidates for state government.
Garotinho defended himself from his previous arrests, stating he did nothing wrong and that his life was searched for no reason. He attributed the rejection to the repetition by the press that he, Sérgio Cabral, Pezão and Rosinha were arrested, and stated that his government bothered interests of a mafia that has governed Rio for a long time.
During the forum, the candidate returned to mention that he has a video of a party by Daniel Vorcaro with authorities and politicians, without specifying the content or which people appear in the material. Additionally, Garotinho accused 40 state deputies of the Alerj of having relationships with criminals.
