Vuelta: João Almeida third in time trial won by Kung, Mas remains leader

In the Vuelta a España, an individual time trial took place which was won by Kung. The Swiss rider demonstrated great quality in the time trial, achieving the best time among all participants.

João Almeida, Portuguese rider for UAE Team Emirates, finished in third position in this time trial stage. The young Portuguese rider maintained a good pace throughout the entire route, securing a place on the stage classification podium.

With this result, João Almeida maintains the lead in the general classification of the Vuelta. His consistent performance in the time trial allowed him to protect his position at the head of the race, demonstrating that he continues to be the rider to beat in this competition.

Ivo Oliveira, also Portuguese and a time trial specialist, finished in eighth position. Although he didn't reach the podium, the rider achieved a positive result, contributing to the strong overall performance of Portuguese cyclists in the Vuelta.

In the time trial stage of the Tour of Spain, with 32.1 kilometres between El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez de la Frontera, rider Kung completed the course in 35 minutes and 22 seconds, securing victory with a three-second advantage over British rider Callum Thornley (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), in second place.
