The A2000 association celebrated 26 years of activity dedicated to inclusion and community support. According to António Ribeiro, president of the board, this period was marked by great effort, much struggle, dreams and achievements, reflecting a path of continuous commitment to the most vulnerable.
The association was born in Santa Marta de Penaguião and moved to its current facilities in 2019. Its main objective has always been to support people who need help, with special focus on people with disabilities, but also covering children and the elderly.
António Ribeiro considers that one of the clearest signs of the success of the work developed by the institution is the fact that some people no longer need its services, as they manage to integrate into the community and the labor market. For the president, the fact that they do not return to A2000 constitutes the first evidence that they have been fully integrated and that they are full citizens like everyone else.
