Insomniac Games, after the success of Marvel's Spider-Man 1 and 2, bets on Marvel's Wolverine, an action game with RPG elements set in the same universe as the Spider-Man games. The title suffered several gameplay and mechanics leaks over the past years, but, according to the developer, it brings much more content than was revealed.
In a world where the X-Men don't exist, the player controls Wolverine as part of a group called 'Team X,' led by Nathaniel Essex. The opening scene shows Essex finding a memory-less and feral Logan, recruiting him to what he describes as 'a place for people with special abilities.'
'Team X' is composed of Sabretooth, Mystique, and Walter, the latter taking on the role of the group's scientist. The article makes a warning to players who don't deeply know Marvel's mutant mythology: it is advisable to avoid researching the identities of the characters that appear in the game, to avoid spoilers and pre-established impressions about the story.
