PS-Madeira warned that the region recorded 228 suicide deaths over a decade. The party marked World Suicide Prevention Day with this alert about the situation in the autonomous region.

The Madeiran Socialist party again defended the need to carry out an epidemiological study on the mental health of the Madeiran population. This claim arises in the context of alarming statistics on suicides in the region.

PS-Madeira considers it essential to collect concrete data on the mental health of Madeira's inhabitants in order to implement more effective prevention measures suited to the regional reality.
