Garotinho proposes BOPE 2.0 and says he will create subway line 3 with 'super ferries'

The former governor of Rio de Janeiro Anthony Garotinho (Republicanos) proposed during an interview by GLOBO, CBN and Valor Econômico the creation of a Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) 2.0 in the state, with five thousand men, with 600 to 700 destined for special operations. He criticized the implementation process of the UPPs and avoided detailing which communities the new security program would start with, stating that he did not want to "warn the bandits."

According to Garotinho, BOPE 2.0 will work in three stages: first the occupation force would enter, then the Civil Police would map locations with weapons and drugs, and finally the social troop would enter with programs for young people in health and education areas.

In the mobility area, the Republicanos candidate presented what he called his "biggest proposal": transforming the subway line 3 project, promised for decades by state managers, into 70 lines with "super ferries." The original subway line 3 project is an old demand from the population of the state of Rio de Janeiro that was never completed.
