The article tells the life story of a person from Espinho, whose title indicates a professional trajectory that goes from the workshop to the stationery shop. His childhood took place on Rua dos Combatentes, in front of the current Guetim Bakery, in a family of 10 siblings.
At age 10, he began working in an automobile engine rebuilding workshop, remaining in this profession until age 19. After the April 25, 1974 revolution, he went to the military and, when he returned, he found that wages had increased significantly.
He had difficulty finding a job and ended up working nights at a bakery in Vergada. At that bakery, they made traditional pastries for sale at fairs and festivals throughout the country, producing about 50 bags of flour per Sunday night.
