Police took new steps in the investigation into the death of radiology technician Larissa Morata, found dead with a gunshot to the head in the bathroom of the home where she lived with her husband, military police officer Vinícius Costa Silva, on the morning of last Sunday (6), in Embu das Artes, in Greater São Paulo.
On Thursday morning (10), investigators executed a search and seizure warrant at an address linked to the PM's family. The target was his sister, Thamires Mathias, 19 years old. She was not at the residence at the time of the operation, and her parents told police that their daughter had slept at a friend's house.
Thamires came under investigation for suspected procedural fraud, a crime that occurs when someone attempts to deceive the investigation. The suspicion was prompted by a discrepancy in the testimonies: while Vinícius stated that his sister was not at the residence at the time Larissa died, Thamires gave a different version, saying she was at the property when this occurred.
