Amendment allowing Braille voting in Azores parliamentary elections published

An amendment to the legislation has been published allowing Braille voting in elections for the Parliament of the Azores. This measure aims to guarantee the voting rights of people with visual impairments in the autonomous region.

The initiative was approved by a majority in the final overall vote, receiving 214 votes in favor. Three lawmakers abstained in the vote, with no votes recorded against.

The amendment comes within the framework of Azorean electoral legislation, enabling citizens with visual impairments to exercise their voting rights autonomously and secretly in regional elections.
