Thirteen restaurants participate in the second edition of the Route of the Pincho of the Penjar Tomato of Alcossebre. The gastronomic initiative is promoted by the Association of Business Owners of Alcalá-Alcossebre, through its vocal group of restoration, represented by Mario Cioffi and Juan Laureano Rubio. The event will take place between September 21 and October 12, 2026, consolidating this activity that aims to highlight the Penjar Tomato as a gastronomic product of the region. The route allows participants to taste pinchos prepared with this characteristic ingredient of Alcossebre.

Chocalhos return to Alpedrinha

The Chocalhos festival – Festival of the Transhumance Paths returns to Alpedrinha, in the municipality of Fundão, between September 18 and 20, celebrating pastoral culture and the ancestral traditions of transhumance between Serra da Estrela and the fields of Idanha-a-Nova. Over three days, the event promoted by the Fundão Town Hall includes entertainment with traditional groups such as Zabumbas de Alpedrinha and Sounds of the Mountain, a hike through Serra da Gardunha, a dog exhibition, pastoral workshops, showcooking with Chef Maria Caldeira, a round table on the Bombo in Portuguese tradition, concerts and a walk with flocks between Fundão and Alpedrinha, with the aim of keeping the pastoral heritage alive and passing on the history of this centuries-old activity.
