The Municipal Chamber of Vila Nova de Cerveira held yesterday an official reception to welcome the teaching and non-teaching staff who will accompany the students of the municipality during the 2026/2027 school year. The event took place at the main school of the School Grouping and brought together professionals from the educational community in a moment of recognition for the work carried out in schools and of strengthening cooperation between the Municipality, educational establishments, teachers, non-teaching staff, students, and families.
The Education Councilor, Sónia Guerreiro, highlighted the fundamental role of professionals in accompanying and developing children and young people, stating that "Education is built every day and with the contribution of everyone." The municipal council guarantees that it intends to continue working closely with the educational community to provide the best conditions for students.
As a welcome gesture, each professional received a personalized pen and a stainless steel water bottle. In addition to the reception moment, the program included a conference, a panel on diversity in schools, and five thematic workshops.
Among the topics addressed in the workshops were emotional well-being, neurodiversity, staged readings, family challenges, and communication and ethics in relationships. The meeting ended with the session "Thinking about school with your hands," moderated by Clara Rodrigues.
