The president of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, assured this Thursday at an electoral rally that the final of the 2030 World Cup will be held in Casablanca. This guarantee comes within the framework of the campaign for the legislative elections in Morocco.
The 2030 World Cup will be jointly organized by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, in a historic three-way bid. The decision on the distribution of matches among the three host countries has not yet been fully defined.
Lekjaa, who also holds the position of president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, made this statement before supporters during the political event. Casablanca is considered one of the main candidates to host the decisive match of the tournament.
The joint bid was approved by FIFA, marking the first time the World Cup will be held in three different countries. Morocco will host a significant portion of the matches, with the kingdom investing heavily in sports infrastructure for the event.
