The Council of Ministers was held in Bragança, with the Government approving the extension of the ten cents per liter support for agricultural diesel until the end of the year.

This measure aims to support the agricultural sector, maintaining the subsidy that was already in place to help farmers with fuel costs.

The Executive also announced that new measures for other sectors will be presented next week, covering areas such as transportation and firefighters.

The information was reported by the program FALA PORTUGAL, on TV RECORD, which reported the decision of the Council of Ministers held in the district of Bragança.

Teachers will have the majority of votes to elect school principals

The Minister of Education, Fernando Alexandre, announced that teachers will have more than 50% of the votes in the election of school principals, in an ongoing review of the School Autonomy and Governance Regime. Currently, principals are elected by the General Council, where the sum of votes from teachers and teaching staff cannot exceed 50%. The new Director's Statute will be approved by the end of the year and will include a salary increase for those holding management positions. On the eve of the start of the 2026/2027 school year, Fernando Alexandre also revealed other Government priorities, such as the revision of the Teaching Career Statute, reducing bureaucracy, and implementing digital tools, including the Digital Education Counter and the Digital Biographical Record of teachers.
