The Society for Development of Northern Madeira and the Junta de Freguesia do Seixal signed a protocol for the transfer of management, operation, and maintenance of the Poça das Lesmas and Mata Sete swimming pools. The agreement was formalized this Thursday during a meeting between the two entities.
The protocol was attended by Pedro Rodrigues, regional secretary of Equipment and Infrastructure, and by Élia Ribeiro, president of the Board of Directors of the Society for Development of Northern Madeira, who represented the company responsible for the transfer of the infrastructure.
With this agreement, the Junta de Freguesia do Seixal becomes responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of these two natural swimming pools located in northern Madeira. The document establishes the conditions for the transfer of responsibilities between the development society and local government.
The formalization of this protocol represents a strengthening of the local council's autonomy in managing tourist and leisure facilities in the region, allowing the Junta de Freguesia do Seixal to directly control the services provided to visitors of these swimming pools.
