The Council of Ministers approved the appointment of Ana Casaca, from Galp, as the new president of AICEP (Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal). This appointment comes after Madalena Oliveira e Silva's resignation from the position.
Ana Casaca thus replaces Madalena Oliveira e Silva as head of the agency, which had taken office in April. This is already the third person to lead AICEP since Luís Montenegro became prime minister.
The previous changes in AICEP leadership involved indemnities of 200,000 euros, according to reports. The pace of changes at the agency has been attracting public attention.
With this appointment, Montenegro's government seeks to stabilize AICEP's leadership, choosing a professional with experience in the energy and business sectors to lead the agency that promotes investment and Portuguese external trade.
