TAP reiterated its strategic interest in strengthening a route in Brazil where it is the leading European company. The Portuguese airline is celebrating in 2026 the 60 years of the regular route between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro, a destination that remains one of the three most important for TAP in that market. Rio de Janeiro is one of the pillars of TAP's operation in Brazil, reflecting the strong historical and cultural link between Portugal and the South American country. The air carrier also identifies São Paulo and Recife as the other two priority destinations in its Brazilian operation.
