Mãeana revealed that one of the biggest grudges she developed against Gilberto Gil occurred when he listened to the third album by the band Tono, which she was part of along with Bem Gil, her husband and son of Gilberto Gil. The artist explained that she had great expectations for the moment, since Gil was also the producer of the album "Aquário."
After listening to the entire album, Gilberto Gil's response was to compare the work to the group Los Hermanos, saying that "Los Hermanos is their João Gilberto." Mãeana said she was extremely hurt by the comment, as she did not see herself as a woman singing similarly to Los Hermanos' vocalists.
