A woman was arrested in flagrant delicto on Wednesday suspected of murdering her own mother, 77 years old, with hammer blows, in Itaboraí, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio. The victim was identified as Delza Maria Alves Costa.
According to investigations by the Specialized Homicide Unit of Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí (DHNSGI), the suspect attacked her mother because she suspected the elderly woman was having relations with her partner, with whom she has been for nine years.
The Civil Police located the suspect in São Gonçalo, also in the Metropolitan Region of Rio, and she confessed the crime. Investigators found that the woman went to her mother's residence in Itaboraí with a hammer. Upon finding the victim and her partner together, she began destroying objects inside the home and questioned her mother about the situation.
