The Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ) charged the 13 accused of involvement in the death of cyclist Cláudio Rafael Landeiro, 37 years old, which occurred in early August in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio. The indictment includes both the direct participants in the beating and those indirectly involved in the crime.
The MP agreed with the accusations made by the Civil Police and requested that the four arrested for the beating remain in preventive detention, now for the crime of triple-qualified homicide, and no longer under temporary detention. The four are: Davi dos Santos Machado, Jorge Luiz Ricardo Dias, Felipe Eduardo dos Santos Dias and Ailton José da Silva.
According to the investigations, Davi dos Santos Machado and Jorge Luiz Ricardo Dias worked providing security services illegally. The Civil Police had already indicted the same 13 people for the crime.
