The state government of Rio de Janeiro has again reduced the working hours of public servants in the capital and metropolitan region due to Rock in Rio. This Friday's (the 11th) service hours will run from 8am to 3pm, according to Decree 50,466, published in the Official Gazette of the State.
The measure covers organs and entities of the direct, autarchic, and foundation administration of the state. Offices with essential activities for public service will maintain normal hours, and the State Health Department will regulate working hours at public health network units.
The reason for the reduced schedule is the expectation of a large crowd concentration in the Cidade do Rock area, in Barra da Tijuca, in the Southwest Zone of Rio. The measure aims to allow special urban mobility operations to minimize the impacts resulting from the extraordinary increase in people circulating in the event area.
