Marlaska insists there were no alerts of a massive entry in Ceuta like the one that occurred

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General10 September 2026 at 13:05

The Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, reiterated this Thursday that there was no "any alert" from the National Intelligence Center (CNI) about a massive entry of migrants in Ceuta similar to the one that occurred on July 30 and 31.

Grande-Marlaska made these statements when questioned about the CNI documentation related to the period prior to the migratory crisis in the Spanish city of Ceuta, defending that the intelligence services did not have information that would allow them to foresee the events as they occurred.

The National Education Federation (FNE) warned the government about the need to ensure adequate conditions before implementing the integration of the 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education into a single cycle. A federation emphasized that reforms should not be used as a tool to address teacher shortages, reduce hiring, or increase mobility, and demanded negotiations with the government. The FNE demands that any reform be preceded by negotiation with teachers and that structural conditions be ensured, including sufficient human and material resources to guarantee the quality of education.
